Privacy Policy
Last updated 26 October 2026
This policy explains what happens to personal information in connection with gbirdmedia.com and the private tools Gbird Media uses to publish to its own Pinterest and social media accounts. The short version: this is a small publisher’s website with no accounts, no sign-up forms and no advertising, and we do not sell anything about you.
1. Who we are
Gbird Media is an independent book publisher. It publishes books by Gbird Traveler and Sarah Gregory, sold on Amazon. In this policy, “we” and “us” mean Gbird Media.
2. What the website collects
The website is a set of static pages. There is no login, no comment system, no newsletter and no sign-up or contact form. We do not ask for your name, address or payment details, and we do not run advertising.
3. Analytics
We use Google Analytics to understand how many people visit the site and which pages they view. Google Analytics uses cookies and collects information such as the pages you visit, how long you stay, the type of device and browser you use, and your approximate location derived from your IP address. We see this only as totals and trends; we do not use it to identify you. Google processes this information under Google’s privacy policy. You can block these cookies in your browser settings or install the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
4. Hosting
The site is hosted by Bluehost. Like all web hosts, it keeps standard server logs, such as IP address, browser type, pages requested and timestamps, for security and to keep the site running. We do not use those logs to identify individual visitors.
5. Book trailers
Most book trailers on this site are video files served from our own host, and playing them does not send information to any video platform. The trailers for Sarah Gregory’s books are embedded from YouTube using its privacy-enhanced mode (youtube-nocookie.com), so YouTube does not set tracking cookies until you press play. Once you press play, YouTube receives the request and Google’s privacy policy applies.
6. Books
Our books are sold by Amazon, not by this site. Links to Amazon take you to Amazon’s website, where Amazon’s own privacy policy applies. We never see your payment details or delivery address.
7. Pinterest
Gbird Media uses a private tool to publish pins to its own Pinterest account through the official Pinterest API. This section explains how that tool handles Pinterest data.
- Single-user tool. The tool is used only by Gbird Media. It is not offered to the public, there is no sign-up, and it is not used to access anyone else’s Pinterest account.
- Authorisation. It connects only after the account owner approves it on Pinterest’s own authorisation screen. Access can be withdrawn at any time from the Pinterest account’s security settings, under apps.
- What it reads. Basic profile information for our own account, to confirm the right account is connected, and the list of our own boards, so a board can be chosen for each pin.
- What it writes. Pins we create ourselves: our images, titles, descriptions, alt text and destination links.
- What it does not do. It does not collect, store or process information about other Pinterest users, followers or people who view or save our pins. It does not read anyone’s messages, and it does not use Pinterest data for advertising or sell it.
- Storage and security. Pinterest access tokens are stored only on our own computer, in a file limited to our user account. They are sent only to Pinterest, never shared with anyone else, and deleted when the tool is disconnected.
- Pinterest’s policies. Pinterest’s own privacy policy applies to your use of Pinterest. We follow Pinterest’s developer guidelines for how the API may be used.
8. Other social media
We may also publish our own posts and videos to our own accounts on platforms such as Facebook, Instagram and YouTube, using each platform’s own tools. We do not collect information about other users of those platforms. Each platform’s own privacy policy applies when you use it.
9. What we never do
We do not sell, rent or trade personal information. We do not build advertising profiles. We do not share information with third parties except where it is technically necessary to run the site (our host, analytics provider and, for embedded trailers, YouTube) or where the law requires it.
10. Children
Some of our books are for children, but this website is meant for the adults who buy them. It is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
11. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask what personal information we hold about you, to have it corrected, or to have it deleted. Because the site collects almost nothing beyond anonymous analytics, in most cases we will hold nothing that identifies you. You can delete Google Analytics cookies from your browser at any time.
12. Changes
We may update this policy. The date at the top of this page shows when it last changed.
